Hesitation: Insistent Waiting.

flitting from useful task to useful task

validating breaths through dutiful service

busy as hell

yet waiting

it’s difficult to judge

whether the call to adventure

has been heard

or if we are on hold

insistent waiting

this may be the journey

the end of which

brings us home

unrecognizable

nothing like what we expected

transformed and battle-scarred

torn

between staying in a reality that is no longer comfortable

and leaving because new hungers draw us away

here we are hesitating

so we insist we’ve gotten no where
